The first pump in the world
The first pump in the world was called the Armenian screw pump used to lift water from low to higher land since ancient times. Argentina (287-212 BC) was the inventor of this device , originally used for irrigation in the Nile Delta and for pumping water out from the hold of ships.
Archimedes screw pumps are spiral shaped around the central cylindrical shaft. Pumps operate by windmill or by manual labor. As the shaft spins, the water follows the raceways into the rotation until it flows out from the top of the tube.
Archimedes screw pumps were originally made of wood and then replaced by metal.
The contact surface between the screw and the pipe does not need to be closed, only the amount of water pumped up each time more than the amount of water leaked out.
Up to now, the Archimedes pump model is not only widely used in irrigation water supply, wastewater drainage, .. but also for transporting solids in construction, factories, factories.
