Depending on the type of valve product, the way, installation position and purpose of use are different, but in general, it is divided into two categories: flanged connection (usually with DN≥65mm) and threaded connection (usually with DN ≤50mm). The following steps are required before and during installation:
1. Pipe cleaning:
- Before installation, clean the pipe with air, water, and clean it
- It is necessary to remove the debris remaining on the pipeline, especially the weld slag during the welding of the pipe, the pipe debris during the turning process to avoid damage to the seat, valve seals. .
2. Arranging the pipe connecting to the valve:
- Before installation, check that the 2 ends of the pipes are connected to the 2 connecting surfaces of the valve to make sure they are concentric.
- If the ends of the pipe are not concentric, the bearings and related fittings shall be adjusted until the ends of the tube are concentric before connecting the valve.
- Do not lean against the valves to adjust the pipe is not concentric because it can lead to the risk of leaking valve leaks at the connection point, even broken pipeline.
3. Clean the gasket (Roaster):
Before installation, ensure that the gaskets are completely clean. and tube.
4. When installing the valve to the pipeline:
- When welding the valve, make sure the valve is always in the open position, avoiding uneven expansion of materials.
- When transporting, installing in the installation position, the valve body must be raised to avoid affecting the sealing assembly.
- Ensure that when installing the finishing valve in the finishing pipeline, the valves are free from being pulled, compressed or deflected.
- Make sure the valve is fitted in the correct center of the pipe. Installing the piping eccentric valve will cause valve not tightness and valve damage.
5. Avoid water hammer:
- Note that when installing or testing, there must be prevention of water hammer happening and damaging the valve, the system must be installed with protective equipment such as water hammer valve, pressure relief valve ... setting valve opening / closing time is prolonged to avoid sudden valve opening and closing.
6. Install the valve in the correct direction:
There are a number of valves that operate one way such as check valve, knife valve, filter Y, pressure reducing valve ... so care must be taken when the installation must be in the same direction of flow with the arrow direction on the valve body or in the direction. specific installation instructions.
7. Be careful with the valve opening / closing force too tight:
It is very dangerous when the force is larger than necessary, creating marks in the valve seat, making the valve not tight the next time. If the torque is too strong, it will damage the thread on the valve shaft, valve flange.
8. Connecting the hose to the threaded valve:
The size and pitch of the pipe shall be used in accordance with the size of the valve.
- The length of the threaded part of the pipe to the valve must be consistent with the length of the threaded part of the valve. If the length is too long, it affects the valve flap or the valve breakage when connecting, if it is too short, it does not ensure the tightness of the joint.
When connecting, the connection points must be wrapped with thaw tape, jute wire, coated with the appropriate degree of thaw or jute wire to the appropriate degree to avoid thick cracking of the valve break, too thin will not ensure tightness. Tighten the connection just enough without using the tool to twist with too great a force causing the valve to break.
- With a flange connection valve, the flange mounted on the pipe must be the correct size and flange standard for the valve
- For welded steel or stainless steel valves, the valve welding process must be opened
